Water Extraction and Wet Carpet Cleanup, 24 Hours a Day

When a pipe bursts, a basement floods or an appliance leaks, UltiClean comes to your home or business and pulls the water out of your carpet and underpad with truck-mounted extraction. We are open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and we serve Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Thornhill, North York, Vaughan, Toronto and nearby areas.

What our water damage cleanup includes

  • Water extraction: standing water removed from carpet and underpad with powerful truck-mounted equipment.
  • Carpet and underpad assessment: we tell you honestly what can be saved and what should be replaced.
  • Cleaning and deodorizing: carpet that can be saved is cleaned and treated so it does not turn musty.
  • Drying: we set up air movers and dehumidifiers to dry the carpet, underpad and room fully.
  • A detailed invoice for your insurance claim.

Call 647-676-0576 as soon as the source of the water is stopped. The faster the water comes out, the more of your carpet can usually be saved.

Water damage cleanup in Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Vaughan and Toronto

Water in your home is stressful, and the clock starts the moment it comes in. The longer water sits in carpet and underpad, the more damage it does and the more likely a musty odour becomes. UltiClean is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and our truck-mounted extraction pulls water out of carpet and pad far faster than household wet vacuums.

    Common causes in GTA homes

    • Spring thaw and heavy rain: water finds its way into basements through foundation cracks and window wells.
    • Burst or frozen pipes: especially in cold snaps.
    • Appliance leaks: washing machines, dishwashers, water heaters and fridge lines.
    • Sump pump failure: often during storms or power outages.
    • Sewer backups: contaminated water that needs special handling.

    Clean, grey and contaminated water

Clean water from a burst supply pipe or appliance supply line is the easiest to deal with. Carpet can often be saved with fast extraction and drying. Grey water, such as washing machine discharge, carries more risk and needs thorough cleaning. Contaminated water from sewer backups or flooding from outside can carry bacteria. Carpet and pad soaked by sewage are usually removed rather than cleaned, and the floor is cleaned and disinfected. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.

    Our Water Damage Cleanup Service

    1. Assess the damage. We check how far the water spread and what type it is.
    2. Extract the water. Truck-mounted extraction removes water from carpet and underpad.
    3. Decide what can be saved. Pad that is badly soaked or contaminated often needs replacing.
    4. Clean and deodorize. Carpet that can be saved is cleaned and treated for odour.
    5. Dry the area. We set up air movers and dehumidifiers and explain how long they need to run.

    While you wait for us

    • Stay safe. Do not walk through water near outlets or appliances.
    • Stop the source of water if you can safely reach the shut-off valve.
    • Take photos and video for your insurer.
    • Move furniture, electronics and valuables off wet floors.
    • Put foil or blocks under furniture legs that cannot be moved.

    Preventing a musty smell

Once water is extracted, the space needs to dry completely. Our air movers and dehumidifiers do the heavy lifting; keep the area warm and leave doors open for airflow while they run. If a musty smell lingers after everything is dry, we can treat the carpet and the room. See odour removal.

    Insurance

Coverage depends on your policy and the cause of the water. Call your insurer early, keep photos, and keep every invoice. We give you a detailed invoice for your claim.

    More water damage questions

    How quickly can you come?

We are open 24 hours. Call 647-676-0576 as soon as the source of the water is stopped.

    Can wet carpet be saved?

Often, if the water was clean and it is extracted and dried quickly. Sewage-soaked carpet usually cannot be saved.

Do I need to replace the underpad?

Often, yes. Pad holds a lot of water and is inexpensive compared with carpet, so it is usually replaced when soaked.

Should I clean my ducts after a flood?

If water reached basement return vents or ducts, have them checked once everything is dry. See air duct cleaning.

    Can you deal with mould?

We clean and treat carpet and surfaces. If you see significant mould growth on walls or framing, a mould remediation specialist should assess it.

Who calls us for water damage

Homeowners call after a basement floods in a spring storm, a pipe bursts in a cold snap, or a washing machine hose fails. Condo owners call when water comes through from the unit above. Landlords call when a tenant reports a leak. Businesses call when a sprinkler or plumbing failure soaks office carpet overnight. Whatever the cause, the steps are the same: stop the water, extract it fast, and dry the space completely.

    Why customers choose UltiClean

    • Open 24 hours, 7 days a week
    • Truck-mounted extraction that removes far more water than household equipment
    • Honest advice on what can be saved and what should be replaced
    • Air movers and dehumidifiers to dry the space
    • Carpet cleaning and odour treatment once the area is dry
    • Serving the GTA since 2010

We handle water extraction in Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Vaughan, Toronto, Scarborough and North York.

What about water from the unit above my condo?

We can extract and clean the water in your unit. Contact your building management and insurer about the source and responsibility.

Can you clean carpet after a toilet overflow?

Clean water from a supply line is different from a toilet overflow, which may be contaminated. We assess it and tell you whether cleaning or removal is safer.

    How long does drying take?

Usually a few days with fans and dehumidifiers running, depending on how much water came in and the humidity.

Water Damage Cleanup Guides and Tips

Protecting your home from water damage

Many basement floods can be prevented or reduced. Keep downspouts pointed well away from the foundation and make sure the ground slopes away from the house. Clean eavestroughs every fall so water does not overflow next to the walls. Test your sump pump every spring by pouring water into the pit, and consider a battery backup for storms that knock out power. Ask a plumber about a backwater valve to help prevent sewer backups. Replace old rubber washing machine hoses with braided steel ones, and check under sinks and around the water heater for slow leaks. In winter, keep the heat on in unoccupied areas and insulate pipes on exterior walls. Store valuables off the basement floor, on shelves or in plastic bins, so a small leak does not become a big loss.

Will my hardwood floor be damaged?

Hardwood that sits in water can cup or warp. Extracting water quickly and drying the room helps, but a flooring specialist should assess damaged hardwood.

Can you dry carpet without lifting it?

Sometimes, for small amounts of clean water. Larger floods usually need the pad lifted or replaced so the floor underneath can dry.

If you are not sure whether the water is clean or contaminated, treat it as contaminated, keep children and pets away, and call us. We will assess it and explain the safest way forward.

What affects the cost of water damage cleanup

Every water damage job is different, so we give you a written quote before any work starts. The main things that change the price are how large the wet area is, how deep the water soaked into the carpet and underpad, whether the water was clean, grey or contaminated, how many rooms and staircases are involved, and whether furniture has to be moved off the wet floor. Calls at night, on weekends and on holidays are answered the same way as weekday calls: we tell you what we found and what it will cost before we start.

    Basements, condos and offices

Finished basements are the most common place for water damage, because water from a storm, a sump pump failure or a sewer backup collects at the lowest point of the house. In condos, water usually arrives from a neighbouring unit or a failed appliance line, so we work with your building management on access and elevator bookings. In offices and stores, we extract water from commercial carpet so you can reopen as soon as possible.
