How our steam cleaning works
“Steam cleaning” is the everyday name for hot water extraction, the method most major carpet manufacturers recommend. Some require it every 12 to 18 months, or the warranty may be void.
- Inspection. We check fibre type, traffic lanes, spots and pet areas, and point out anything that may not come out fully.
- Pre-treatment. A pre-spray breaks down oily soil and loosens spots before rinsing.
- Hot water extraction. Our truck-mounted system heats water to 230°F, rinses deep into the fibre and pulls the water, soil and solution straight back out.
- Spot and stain work. Remaining spots get targeted treatment.
- Grooming and drying. Fibres are groomed so they dry evenly. With 31 horsepower of suction, most carpets are dry within a few hours.
- Optional protector. A fabric protector helps future spills bead up so you can blot them away.

Carpet cleaning questions
How long will my carpet take to dry?
Usually a few hours for synthetic carpet thanks to truck-mounted extraction. Wool and thick plush take longer. Open windows, run fans or the furnace fan to speed it up. See how long carpet takes to dry.
Do I need to move furniture?
Please clear small items, breakables and anything on the floor. We can move light furniture and clean around heavier pieces.
Is steam cleaning safe for pets and children?
Yes. The extraction rinse removes cleaning solution along with the soil, so very little residue stays in the carpet. Keep pets and children off until the carpet is dry.
Can you clean wool rugs?
Yes. Wool is cleaned with lower heat and wool-safe solutions, and takes longer to dry than synthetic fibre.
How much does carpet cleaning cost?
Price depends on the number of rooms or square footage, stairs, the level of soiling and add-ons such as protector or pet treatment. Call 647-676-0576 or send the form for a clear estimate before any work starts.
Hot water extraction vs other carpet cleaning methods
Not every “carpet cleaning” is the same. Low-moisture and bonnet methods clean the top of the pile and dry quickly, but they leave most of the deep soil behind. Shampooing can leave sticky residue that attracts dirt. Hot water extraction rinses the carpet from the base of the pile and pulls the dirty water straight back out, which is why it is the method most carpet manufacturers recommend. Carpet types we clean
- Nylon and polyester: the most common household carpet, cleaned with standard hot water extraction.
- Wool and wool blends: cleaned at lower heat with wool-safe solutions, and given more drying time.
- Berber and loop pile: cleaned carefully to avoid snags and the brown edges that over-wetting can cause.
- Frieze and plush: groomed after cleaning so the pile stands up and dries evenly.
- Commercial carpet and carpet tile: offices, clinics, restaurants and common areas.
A quick stain guide
- Coffee and tea: blot, never rub. Most fresh coffee stains come out completely. See how to get coffee out of carpet.
- Red wine and juice: blot right away with cold water. The faster it is treated, the better the result.
- Pet urine: soaks into the backing and pad. Surface cleaning hides it until the next humid day.
- Grease and makeup: need a solvent pre-treatment before extraction.
- Winter salt: white crust that keeps coming back. See how to remove salt stains.
- Bleach spots: colour loss, not a stain. Cleaning cannot bring colour back.
How often should your carpet be cleaned?
- Single person or couple, no pets: every 12 to 18 months.
- Family with children: every 12 months, plus high-traffic areas in between.
- Homes with pets: every 6 to 12 months.
- Allergies or asthma in the home: every 6 months.
- Rental turnovers: between every tenant.

More carpet cleaning questions
Do you move furniture?
We move light furniture like chairs and side tables and clean around heavier pieces such as beds, dressers and entertainment units.
Will the stains come back?
Stains that reappear after cleaning are usually wicking up from the pad. Thorough extraction reduces this, and we treat problem spots a second time if needed.
Can you clean carpet in an occupied office?
Yes. We are open 24 hours, so we can clean after hours or on weekends.

Residential and commercial carpet
Homes, condos and rental units make up most of our work, but we also clean offices, clinics, restaurants, indoor playgrounds and retirement residences. Commercial carpet takes far more traffic, so it benefits from a regular schedule. Because we are open 24 hours, commercial cleaning can be done after closing.
Carpet cleaning myths
“Cleaning makes carpet get dirty faster.” That happens when shampoo or detergent is left behind and attracts soil. Hot water extraction rinses the solution out, so there is very little residue left to attract dirt.
“Steam cleaning shrinks carpet.” Shrinking comes from over-wetting with weak equipment that cannot pull the water back out. Truck-mounted extraction removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry in hours.
“You should wait as long as possible between cleanings.” Waiting lets grit wear the fibres down. Regular cleaning makes carpet last longer, not shorter.
“Rental machines do the same job.” Rental units have a fraction of the heat and suction of a truck-mounted system, which leaves more water and more soil behind.
